Questions, answered.

What is Therapeutic Plasma Exchange?

TPE filters your blood to remove inflammatory proteins, damaged molecules, and other pro-aging factors that accumulate over time, then replaces them with clean replacement fluid. Think of it as changing the oil in your engine — clearing out the biological waste your body can no longer filter on its own.

Is TPE established medicine, or is it experimental?

Plasma exchange has been used in hospitals for decades. The American Society for Apheresis (ASFA) recognizes therapeutic apheresis across 66 conditions and 111 indications. What’s newer is the research into its role in longevity and cognitive health — including the AMBAR trial, which studied plasma exchange in patients with moderate Alzheimer’s disease.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first step is a comprehensive blood panel and a physician assessment. From there, your clinical team designs a protocol tailored to your physiology and goals — no two plans are identical.

How long does a session take?

A typical in-clinic plasma exchange session takes about 90 minutes. Many patients describe the experience as calm and restful, and most return to their day afterward.

Which clinic should I choose?

Start with a free discovery call. We’ll talk through your goals, your lifestyle, and the locations nearest you, then help you choose the clinic that fits. You can also explore each clinic’s page for hours, directions, and what to expect.
