Physician-supervised longevity therapy

How Therapeutic Plasma Exchange Works.

Therapeutic Plasma Exchange is a breakthrough longevity therapy that filters harmful molecules from your bloodstream — like inflammatory proteins, antibodies, and toxins — and replaces your plasma with a clean, sterile solution. Think of it as an oil change for the body.

The Procedure, Step by Step

Blood is drawn

Through a small IV, like a routine blood draw.

Plasma is removed

A device separates the liquid part of your blood — and the pro-aging factors it carries — from your blood cells.

Clean albumin is added

A purified, sterile solution that replaces the plasma as it’s removed.

Blood is returned

All of your blood cells come back to you through a second IV.

The exchange itself runs about 90 minutes; plan for roughly three hours start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about safety, comfort, cost, and what to expect — from a clinical team that does this every day.

Is plasmapheresis safe?

Plasmapheresis has been performed in hospitals and clinics for decades and is well-tolerated when carried out by trained clinicians on established apheresis equipment. Like any medical procedure, it carries some risks — most are mild and temporary, such as tingling, lightheadedness, or bruising where the IV is placed. Before your first session, your clinical team reviews your health history and recent labs to confirm it’s a good fit, and you’re monitored throughout

Does it hurt?

The only real discomfort is the IV placement, which feels like a routine blood draw. During the session, some people notice mild tingling or a cool sensation as blood is returned — if you do, tell your clinician and they can adjust. You stay awake and comfortable the whole time.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals, your baseline labs, and how you respond. Some plans are a short series; others involve periodic maintenance over time. After reviewing your bloodwork and your goals, your clinical team builds a protocol tailored to your physiology.

What does it cost?

Your cost depends on your individual protocol: how many sessions it calls for, and what each involves. We review numbers and options on your discovery call. Longevity care is self-pay.

Does it actually work?

Plasmapheresis has been used in hospital settings for decades to treat a variety of conditions, including Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, among others. It’s being studied for applications in longevity medicine and for complex conditions like Alzheimer’s and dementia. We encourage you to read the research, including the AMBAR study.

How long does a session take?

Plan to be with us for about three hours. You’ll be settled in a private suite the whole time. Most people rest, read, work, or nap. We’ll confirm timing for your specific protocol before you come in.

Does this use donor blood or “young plasma”?

No. Your own blood cells are returned to you. Your plasma is replaced with sterile, purified albumin — not donor plasma, and not “young blood.” This is an established medical procedure, distinct from the experimental plasma-transfusion approaches you may have read about.

Can I drive myself home?

Yes — most people drive themselves home and head straight back into their day. You’re awake and alert the whole time, with no recovery period afterward. If anything about your health or protocol calls for a different plan, your clinical team will let you know in advance.
